hxcpp_config.xml? hxcpp compile issue

tom rhodes
ok, after i sorted the mkdir thing, i'm now getting this error...

Uncaught exception - Could not find the include file .hxcpp_config.xml

after a google i've found some stuff about defining your own config xml by setting more environment vars. i've gone back to teh hello world example and am still getting this error.

i must have something wonky in the setup somewhere, but i can't find out where...

any ideas?

Hi,

The .hxcpp_config file give you a chance to add some machine-specific
config.

It comes from the 2 lines in the hxcpp/build-tool/BuildCommon.xml that
look like:

<include name="${HXCPP_CONFIG}" section="vars" noerror="1"/>

I added the "noerror" command to avoid stopping the compilation in your
case
where the file does not exist, but it seems things may have been confused.

I'm not sure where the confusion comes from - perhaps the file exists but
is unreadable?
Or perhaps the hxcpp version is out of date?

You could try removing these lines from the BuildCommon.xml file and see
if this helps.

You can use:

haxelib path hxcpp

to find out which version of hxcpp is in use.

Re: hxcpp_config.xml? hxcpp compile issue

tom rhodes
thanks so much for the response hugh, i was starting to feel lonely ;) i'm on 2,07,0.

you got me thinking about the versions, so i looked in the hxcpp folder and there was 2,06,1 and 2,07,0. .current had the right version, so i moved the 2,06,1 folder and compiled again and got errors where it was looking for the previous versions BuildCommon.xml.

so that got me thinking about the environment variables and i hadn't updated the HXCPP var to the new versions folder!

thank you so much hugh, i wouldn't have got there without your prompting :) so for anyone who gets probs after updated hxcpp, update your HXCPP environment var!

doh.

No worries. Sometimes you might have to repeat your questions because I'm
a little hard or hearing (or quick on the delete key) and will take no
offence.
