Franco Ponticelli
The forum is up for two days and already spammed :(
I've deleted the offending post but what is our moderation policy?
Regards,
Franco.

Also, if you want to promote it a little just post you next question there ... not everything obviously, just something to enrich that page a little ... then we can get back to the old and good mailing list :D

Wiki administrators have post removal rights. We can create a new
"moderator" user group that will be able to do it as well, for people
that often visit the forum.

Best,

I think I would visit if it had an RSS feed about new posts.

We demand RSS, revolt! ;)

I see how people can find my posts a bit abstract and out-of-topic,
but calling them spam?

Ooops ... did I remove a message of yours? I have seen a very long list of links related to Wii and thought it completely OT so I erased it blindly ... I am sorry if that post was actually related to haxe. I will check twice before deletion next time and please submit it again if it was haXe related.
About OT posts I think the forum is too young and unstructured to support them now.

Regards,

Franco.

I love the idea of a thread on the mailing list about spam on the forums.

Re: forum spam

Maybe we should use HashCash verification for posting on the forum?
Requires js, but flashers should have that enabled. The Pivot blog
uses this method and is very effective I think.

I recall the spam post (now removed) was submitted from a registered
forum account. So the question is whether the problem lies in the
registration, and not post submitting. Also didn't registration
process require e-mail validation? How did the spammer slip through?
It may indicate he actually manually registered an account before
submitting his spam, possibly manually too. In which case it is
completely impossible to see the difference between a spammer and a
good user, not before you see the message and can analyze it and
conclude it is SPAM.

Any suggestion where that would be more appropriate? The forum itself is empty and having such topics on that doesn't really help. Maybe a forum for moderators could be the right choice ... but until the forum doesn't really work, it does not make that much sense either.

Probably a nice challenge do do something like that with haXe.
The problem is everywhere - so a haXe solution would be a good show.
