[flash] trace formatting / log file

bubblebenj
Hi,

I'm struggling to have a custom trace output :
I'd like to change the font formatting (font and size).

As far I a know, trace are done in a textfield in flash.
I just wonder how to access this textfield and set its textFormat.

Maybe there is a way to change the global font style of the flash player but I've not found the answer.

Any clue would be appreciated.

Ben

If you go into the haxe/std/flash9 (or haxe/std/flash, if you're
targetting avm1) directory under your haxe install and open the
Boot.hx file you should find the code that you're looking for.
There's not a real good way to modify the behavior without just
editing this file, but there also shouldn't be a problem with making
whatever local changes you need for your own work in there and then
recompiling against the new Boot code.

I should have mentioned you can also just use a custom trace function
via haxe.Log and then move the existing Boot.hx trace handling code
into that with your own changes so that you're not editing std lib
files, but unless you have very special needs I'm not sure it would be
worth the bother?

I just want to use a smaller monospace font instead of the arial like (if not arial) default font.
I find it really painful to read.

Re: [flash] trace formatting / log file

Nevermind, I found the firebug class. It does more than what I asked for.

For those interested :
Simply callĀ haxe.Firebug.redirectTraces() and the basic trace function will be replaced to send all traces to firebug console (not firebug flash console) or chrome console.

Thx
