We should all decide to give into pressure, fly to france, and beg for jobs at motion-twin. You've got a heap of free desks dont you nicolas?

What do you mean? I heard that Nicolas was the godson of a Russian count... the heir to a fortune?!... he sleeps with his eyes open... and programs with them closed. Noone knows why

Meeting

We will soon move in a new place, with much more space than we have now,
so yes we will have a lot of free desks (bring your own !) ;)

BTW, what should we do for the meeting ? So far 14 people are ok to
come, but we lack time to organize something. So maybe I will setup the
whole thing during a weekend in Bordeaux using Motion-Twin HQ, would
that be okay for everybody ?

We could also plan an online meeting as well. IRC is a bit hard to
follow and answer, so I guess we would need at least a cam+audio
broadcast service + chat for attendees.

If someone has the will to work on this, I'm pretty sure I can get us a
FMS server (or haXeVideo but I guess it's not production-ready yet)

Best,
Nicolas

How about using Tong's chat
http://jabber.spektral.at/chat/

source
https://github.com/tong/hxcom

Happy to work on any front end flash for the video stuff, and the
designers here might be able to make it pretty, but backend haXevideo
multiple connections is tricky and requires lots of knowledge I don't
have.  I was thinking two video streams above the chat would be plenty,
one for the venue and one that could be switched to say Australia for
Huge or west country for Lee etc...

I have seen a chat carousels built in haXe but I guess it was closed
source and won't be suitible to reuse for the meeting or to be
opensourced ? Sorry I can't rem who built it but even if it remained
closed source it would be good to have the meeting on haXe tech if possible.

Great! Thanks a lot.

Here http://haxe.org/forum/thread/2488 we can see NICK :

I set up an online video conference several years ago for the REBOL community. We had one speaker on video at a time, with video chat connections in the background between me and several others who were operating the event. Everyone watching, including all the general attendees, were able to communicate using text chat, which the speaker could see and react to. It worked well, and was a nice way for the community to see and interact with a few of the key players in that community.

I would also appreciate and attend an audio/video portion of the conference.

For organization, I'd put forth my personal topic of interest: cross platform cpp support and mobile platforms, as well as general documentation (use-case tutorials, not just automated API descriptions).

Sorry for tooting my own horn here, but you are welcome use my
ReelPortal video conference software, which was built on haxeVideo.
It's pretty stable I think.  It supports both P2P and Client-Server
modes.  You can use my server, or run your own server.

Software is at: www.reelportal.com
Here's a link on how to use it: http://reelportal.blogspot.com/p/how-to-use.html

Followup : I got agreement for using MT-HQ. We are planing to move by
the end of march, so we will have the meeting during April, most likely
19 and 20 (to be confirmed very soon).
